Worlds'09: The Australians Take Mendrisio!

  PEZ Roadside: A Double-Header of road racing action was on the cards for today and as well as some great action to look forward to, the 'Day Before' is an important part of the planning for Sunday's big event. With both viewing spots to scope out under race conditions and transport arrangement to trial with the complication of spectators, PEZ went even deeper inside the 2009 World Road Championships.

  Race Report: It was another action packed race in Mendrisio with attacks all over the place by riders who may be under 23, but most of whom mix it with the Pro’s on a regular basis. In the end a young Basque-Frenchman took the honours in a solo effort that any Pro would be more than proud of.

Worlds’09 Women’s RR: Tatiana Tops Mendrisio!

  Race Report: A wet and dangerous start put paid to the hopes of defending Champion, Nicole Cooke, who crashed early. There were many punctures and falls, but in the end the action was HOT! Attacks came one after the other on a course designed for excitement, and the strong Italian team came out on top!

Worlds'09 Circuit 101: PEZ Rides Mendrisio!

  With the time trial champions crowned, the focus at the world championships has now shifted to the three road races, to be contested this weekend. The Friday of the championship week is officially designated a “rest day”, we decided it would be a good idea to pull on the Capo Custom kit and do a lap or two to see what the course had in-store for the riders and if the roads around Mendrisio really were as tough as everyone had been saying.

PEZ Preview: Elite Men World Championship TT

  It’s difficult to see who can stop Switzerland’s Fabian Cancellara from making it a hat trick of world time trial titles on Thursday afternoon in Mendrisio. The Saxo Bank man is the finest chrono man of his generation and with the added bonus of home roads – barring disasters – it’s very hard to see him being beaten. The other podium spots are not so clear cut, however.

  The Univest Grand Prix is a UCI 2.2 stage race with a newly added Team Time Trial in Allentown, Pennsylvania and a European styled road race in Souderton, Pennsylvania. Univest has long been one of the top races on American soil each year. PEZ's man in the Mid-Atlantic, Dave Berson, was on hand to take in the festivities as Amore e Vita dominated the proceedings.

Team Type 1's Ireland: The Final Day Atrocity

  The last stage of the Tour of Ireland was from Bantry to the Cork. It was supposed to finish with three laps up St. Patrick’s Hill. However, the race was shortened due to adverse weather conditions. In short, it was going to be a really nasty stage...and it was. Fabio Calabria takes us inside one more time.

  Race Report: After the sun and heat of the Tour de France the riders got a shock today with the very wet and dangerous conditions for the San Sebastián Classic raced around the Northern Spanish city. The last 40 kilometres were awash with attacks and crashes, but Carlos Barredo swam to the top!

Suisse Roadside: Coronation Of A National Hero

  It had to be. At some point, Fabian Cancellara had to win the Tour de Suisse. The only question was when. Well, of course, we have an answer. The kindly organizers gave Cancellara a Christmas present in June this year with two time trials and only a moderate voyage through the mountains of possibilities in Switzerland's Alps. Indeed, Cancellara made the most of his chance and obliterated his opposition.
