Astana: Montée Kivilev

Espoir Cycliste Saint-Etienne Loire celebrated the 30th anniversary of their annual hill-climb on October 4, with more than 300 participants, including 66 young cyclists and 247 adults, competing in a timed, individual race up the 9.6km course.

Renamed ‘Montée Kivilev’ in honor of Kazakh cyclist Andrei Kivilev, who lived nearby in Sorbiers when he was a young professional in Europe, this year’s event was won by Emmanuel Baudoin, who set a new course record at 16:20.

Kivilev’s brother Andrei Belousov attended the event to hand out prizes donated by Astana Pro Team for winners and participants, including home trainers, team jerseys and water bottles.

Kivilev remains in our memory and our hearts forever.
