You just can’t beat steel and Brain Tjaden in Sausalito, California is in love with his lugged, handmade Mondonico shod with Shimano Dura Ace. This is no ‘Old Classic’ but a modern bike made in the Classic style… and style it has by the bucketful.

When did you buy it? Built in 2013

What made you choose this bike? Love lugged handmade steel.

What modifications/additions have you done? None, love her just the way she is.

What components are you running? Dura-Ace crank 53×39, Dura-Ace Cassette 11×13 on flat days. 11-25 on climbing days.

How many miles/kilometers do you do a year? About 10,000 miles.

Favorite riding experience on your bike?
Road racing in Boulder back in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Future upgrades? Bigger legs, lungs and heart.
