Hammerhead Partners with Justin Williams and L39ION of Los Angeles
Williams joins Hammerhead Advisory Board to offer new product insights and innovations to support the L39ION team and all Karoo 2 riders across the globe.

Hammerhead announced today a new partnership with Justin Williams and the L39ION of Los Angeles cycling team. To support both racing and training efforts, L39ION athletes now have complete access to Hammerhead’s performance technology suite through the use of the Karoo 2 cycling computer.

Williams also joins the Hammerhead Advisory Board, sitting alongside four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome, to collaborate with the Hammerhead team, share new innovative ideas, and improve cycling technologies for all.

Utilizing the Hammerhead Karoo 2 and Heart Rate Monitor this past weekend at the Boise Twilight Criterium, the L39ION team raced to a first and second place finish in the Women’s race and a first, second, and third podium sweep in the Men’s race.

“I’m really excited about being able to work with the people at Hammerhead. With the Karoo 2 you’re able to trust your computer to be accurate while choosing the data you see, which is hyper critical during important races like Boise Twilight.”Justin Williams, Founder of L39ION of Los Angeles.

Hammerhead will work closely with L39ION to support race and training needs as the team continues to grow. Working together, L39ION and Hammerhead share the ethos of constant innovation and believe in pushing both norms and boundaries within the cycling community.

“We are proud to partner with the L39ION of Los Angeles team and welcome Justin Williams as a member of the Hammerhead Advisory Board. We look forward to both supporting and learning from the L39ION team, with big plans to incorporate new feedback and develop new technologies that will improve cycling for all.”Ross McGraw, Head of Marketing at Hammerhead.

Specialized: Disruption – The New Sagan Collection
We are excited to present the fifth chapter of the storied Sagan Collection – Disruption.

Take a step back in time with us, as we cruise the sun-drenched South of France with Peter Sagan. The new Sagan Collection—Disruption— is the ultimate expression of this disruptive rider and his stylish ways—unmistakable and unmistakably Peter. As with all previous Sagan Collections a unique product assortment brings this new collection to life.

“This year’s Sagan collection is about finding beauty and simplicity in disruption. We looked at the humans who made waves in cycling during the ‘70s time period, both men and women who were being disruptive enough to break the status quo. Specialized was founded in 1974 and we are constantly inspired by the attention to detail in graphic design and the richness of color coming out of an era full of change. It felt so pure and intentional. We felt like that was also Peter. He’s changed cycling forever with his personality and talent as an athlete.” Kayla Clarot, Principle Concept Designer.

The collection is comprised of three limited-edition framesets — S-Works Aethos, Aethos, and an S-Works Tarmac SL7. Additionally, Sagan Collection apparel, helmets and shoes will also be available in the new Disruption design.

  • Kate’s Real Food Introduces Best Flavor Yet – The Classic and Craveable Dark Chocolate Mint

Kate’s Real Food, named the “Best Little Energy Bar in America” by Forbes, and included in the Forbes 2020 holiday gift guide must-have list, is thrilled to announce the newest addition to the Kate’s lineup: the Dark Chocolate Mint Bar. Get ready to fuel your every adventure with this organic twist on your favorite classic flavor.

The organic honey combined with cacao add extra antioxidants to this amazing classic flavor, already being named as the favorite of fans who have tried it. “Honey is full of health-promoting antioxidants and may help fight inflammation, supporting natural immunity,” said Lauren Panoff, Registered Dietitian and MPH. “As part of their whole-food recipes, Kate’s uses honey as the primary sweetening agent in place of lower-quality sweeteners often used in similar products. Not only does honey have a long medicinal history, but it also gives Kate’s bars a delightfully subtle sweetness.”

The reviews are in, customers are raving about the new Dark Chocolate Mint Bar, and the massive amount of pre-order sales speak volumes. Like all Kate’s Real Food products, the Mint Bar is loaded with tasty USDA-certified organic ingredients, including cool peppermint extract, smooth dark chocolate, natural cacao powder, creamy peanut butter, and certified gluten-free oats. It also includes organic, dried bits of cacao beans, adding texture to the bar with chocolate in a pure, unaltered form. Cacao not only packs a chocolatey punch, but it’s also an excellent source of fiber, iron, antioxidants, and magnesium. A small dose of peppermint adds a light burst of flavor to the bar that can also aid in digestion and provide headache relief.

Kate’s makes seven delicious energy bars with real, premium, whole ingredients, and no artificial sweeteners. Each one is USDA-certified organic, gluten free, non-GMO, and sweetened with organic honey. Other Kate’s flavors include Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate Cherry & Almond, Peanut Butter Hemp & Flax, Mango Coconut, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate, and Lemon Coconut & Ginger.

  • Basso Climbing Championship One Brand, Two Granfondos, Three Races

Basso for over 40 years has been extremely loyal to both the Italian territory in which it was born and the cycling culture in which it grew, took inspiration and thrived throughout its history. The company is extremely proud of the authenticity that this loyalty provides and as such we are happy to celebrate in the most coherent fashion that comes to mind. By creating the BASSO CLIMBING CHALLENGE, an initiative that links two of Italy’s nest cycling events, Basso gives its fans a competitive outlet to celebrate the same ideals that has driven the brand since its inception.

As title sponsor of the Basso 10 Colli and technical sponsor of the Prosecco Cycling, Basso saw t to insert a competition within a competition in an e ort not only to celebrate the ideals it holds near and dear but to also link the two iconic events in a special way. By identifying two di cult climbs, one in each event, and taking the cumulative e ort to determine the overall strongest climbers Basso seeks to add yet another element of competition into the most authentic parts of Italian cycling culture, the granfondo.

Two granfondos, two climbs, one clock and a healthy dose of team spirit and individual strength determine the Basso Climbing Champions. Cyclists wishing to participate should mark both October 3rd (Prosecco Cycling, Valdobbiadene, TV) as well as October 17th (Basso 10 Colli, Bologna) on their calendars.

During both races the predetermined climbs will be timed and the fastest five athletes from the same team (whose fastest members can be different from one race to the next) will be crowned as Basso Cycling Champions. As a Basso Cycling Champion they also earn the right to start the following edition of each race on the front line, wearing a Basso Climbing Champion jersey along with prizes representative of the beautiful regions of both races; 60 bottles of fine Prosecco DOCG from Valdobbiadene for the winning team as well as an entire form of Parmigiano and other local delicacies form the region surrounding Bologna. The climbs? Collato (1,5km at 6,3% average gradient) for the Prosecco Cycling and the TIOLA (2,824 km, 7.20% average gradient with max 14%) for the Basso 10 Colli.

Climbing is clearly a physical endeavor but it is also an art-form that requires determination, perseverance and a strong fighting spirit but it is an e ort that must be calculated and measured to perfection if it is to culminate in victory. It is the perfect blend between head, heart and legs and as such, it is the perfect cycling discipline to celebrate our brand. Doing so with two iconic, important and storied granfondos such as the PROSECCO CYCLING granfondo (a prestigious and long standing event in an area famous the world over) as well as the Basso 10 Colli (the second oldest granfondo with 36 editions to its name) serves to render the initiative all the more prestigious and authentic at the same time. Ride better, ride Basso.
