Fara Cycling Launches New Range Of Colours Inspired By Landscapes Of Norway

  • Fara introduces new colourways across all three models – F/Road, F/Gravel and F/All-Road – in its Custom Bike Builder
  • Four new colours added to the line up each inspired by the landscapes we ride in
  • Current favourites Morell Red, Fjord Green and Black Metal remain across the range

Fara Cycling, the independent, Norwegian bike brand championing the simplicity of Scandinavian design, has this week launched its range of colourways across its F/Road, F/Gravel and F/All-Road bikes. Each new colour pays homage to the landscapes and environments around us when we ride, with a nod towards Fara’s homeland, Norway across each new identity.

The new colours include Forest Fog, North Sea, Strand and Solstice, all of which are now available in the Fara Bike Builder, an interactive tool enabling customers to customise and purchase their dream Fara bike. Fara’s original colourways of Morell Red, Fjord Green also remain available in the Bike Builder, while Ride Ready bikes are still available in Fjord Green, Black Metal and Winter Sky, across three different builds in each model – shipped within 72-hours.

“As part of our drive towards simplicity, we have chosen a path of a limited colour scheme that evolves over time,” explained Fara Cycling Marketing Director Jørgen T. Helland. “We use the same colours across all three models rather than limiting riders with certain designs on certain frames only, introducing new inspirations and removing others as we move forward.”

“When looking for inspiration we turned to everything that surrounds us when we’re out exploring on two wheels. Led by the landscapes of Norway but also colours native to environments all around the world where riders do what they love.”

With the latest collection of Fara Cycling colours the brand has looked to develop its Norwegian identity and offer a palette that compliments the aesthetics of the modern cyclist and outdoor enthusiast. Understanding that they require tried and tested products that can handle the impacts of the sport, whilst looking good doing it.

The Fara range is focused on just three models: the F/Road, F/All-Road and F/Gravel, each carrying the brand’s core DNA of simplistic yet innovative Scandinavian design. Each model is available in one of three ‘Series’, offering off-the-peg builds with varying groupsets and builds.

Fara Cycling also recently rolled out its Premium Partner Program, launching its first retail partnership with Barcelona’s L’Equipier where the new colourways can be seen in the flesh. More retail partners are to be announced in due course.

The next generation range of Goodyear Road UHP and Road HP tires total 47 variations across the 4 models which cater to riders’ needs based on diameter, width and intended use.

“After years in development, hundreds of samples, multiple compound updates, casing layups, and thousands of kilometers of real word testing, it gives us great pleasure to finally reveal what we’ve been working on,” said Ben Evans, commercial director of Goodyear Bicycle Tires. “This new range marks our largest expansion and update since our initial launch in 2018. Thanks to the invaluable feedback of our sponsored professional athletes and test riders along with countless hours of development, this is our best performing range yet with rolling resistance decreased by up to 35% and wet grip increased by up to 19% versus our first-generation Eagle F1 tires*. We are thrilled to introduce these new Goodyear road bike tires to the market, providing riders with the confidence to push their limits.”

Velo Saddles’ Angel Revo Saddle Wins the 2023 Taipei Cycle’s d&i Award
Taipei Cycles announced Velo Saddles and their new future-friendly Angel Revo saddle as a winner in the 2023 Taipei Cycle d&i Awards: Parts and Components category.

The Taipei Cycle d&i awards were launched 11 years ago to celebrate design and innovation accomplishments in the cycling industry. As the world leader in saddle manufacturing, Velo wanted to be mindful of the economic impact of the production process of their new Angel Revo. To support this, the nitrogen used in their new proprietary AtmosFoam eliminates the need for chemical additives, making for a more future-friendly product. The Angel Revo also introduces Velo’s new EuphoraBase shell, a non-petroleum-based hybrid bioplastic using plant-based materials and glass fiber. In addition, its Omni saddle cover utilizes recycled knitted fabric instead of microfiber substrates.

The AtmosFoam is a nitrogen-infused foam designed to enhance performance and durability while minimizing the production process’s environmental impact. AtmosFoam is lightweight and provides incredible support for the rider’s sit bones, improving comfort and performance. Including nitrogen in the foaming process results in a lighter, more responsive foam compared to other compounds with finer pore structures.

This process distributes the microcells more evenly, providing consistent rebound and shock-absorbing capabilities. It also offers lower thermal conductivity, keeping contact with the saddle cooler in hotter weather conditions.

Blending popular features from their Senso TT and Angel TT performance saddles, the Angel Revo includes Velo’s patented pressure relief Y-Cutout. The saddle features the longest cutout of previous models, providing enhanced comfort for long rides. Atmos Shaping technology is also used, which combines the saddle cover and the base without visible seam, making it 100% waterproof.

The Angel Revo is available with titanium rails for US$125 and is 248mm long and 148mm wide.

The awards are presented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Bicycle Association (TBA), implemented by International Forum Design (iF). The official awards ceremony took place during the pre-show press conference of the TAIPEI CYCLE 2023 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center on March 21st.

After one year in the making, Optic Nerve Eyewear reveals a new brand identity with a refreshed logo and tagline that aligns with the launch of eight new products to further elevate the brand’s sustainable offerings. Launched in 1981, this Colorado-based company emphasizes people over profits and has been well-respected in the industry for more than 40 years due to its excruciating thoughtfulness around features and innovation. With their new rally cry — “Always Worth It” – they are hoping to pass on to others that getting outside is always worth it.

Optic Nerve is made for the outdoor-inspired and driven by the personal passions of its owners and employees. With a mission “to improve the world around us by making it easier for people to experience and enjoy all the things they love to do in the great outdoors,” the brand is committed to ensuring nothing stands in the way of their customers’ next adventure.

“For the last four decades, Optic Nerve has delivered quality eyewear for the outdoor-inspired and we aim to keep it that way,” Bill Cotton said, Optic Nerve president and co-owner. “We want the Optic Nerve brand to authentically embody the spirit of who we are beyond our products. Social Cycling App Link My Ride Partners With Flanders Classics

  • Link My Ride becomes Official Ride-Out App of Flanders Classics
  • Social cycling app, designed to connect and enable riders and communities
  • Ride-outs to take place on day of Tour of Flanders in UK, Spain and USA
  • App Founded by pro cyclists, Tom Pidcock and Jacques Sauvagnargues

Link My Ride, the social cycling app, has today announced a new partnership with the organiser of some of the world’s most high profile pro cycling races, Flanders Classics.

As the Official Ride-Out App of the Belgium based organisation, Link My Ride is organising a programme of free, public events with key partners, in line with the upcoming Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders). App users will be able to find and join official Tour of Flanders social rides on Sunday 2nd April, to coincide with the highlight event of the Flandrian Spring Classics season, ending with watch parties on return to the host venues.

Launched in September 2022 by pro cyclist Tom Pidcock and his former teammate Jacques Sauvagnargues, Link My Ride was designed to connect riders, enabling cycling communities and clubs to simplify the way that group rides are organised. Link My Ride is free to use for riders signing up individually.

Confirmed ride-out venues include:

  • Via Atelier in London, UK
  • R247 in the Cotswolds, UK
  • Velodrom in Barcelona, Spain
  • Hors Categorie in Girona, Spain
  • Luft in Los Angeles, USA

Details of each of these rides, including start times, routes and suggested speeds will be added to the Link My Ride app in the coming days and highlighted in the feed of riders in and around each location, with additional locations set to be confirmed soon.

Venues interested in hosting an official Flanders Classics x Link My Ride Tour of Flanders ride-out are invited to get in touch via flanders@linkmyride.

Link My Ride recently announced a host of new features including a Route Creator tool (UK only) which provides a new way to discover places to ride. Input preferences such as start point, distance and discipline, and the app will automatically generate multiple looped route options for you to choose from based on local, popular and quiet routes on roads and trails.

Link My Ride is encouraging app users not located within reach of a host venue to utilise this new feature to create their own social ride-outs on the Tour of Flanders Sunday, inviting their friends and other local riders to join them (another new feature!) for a shared celebration of this highly cherished time in the cycling calendar.

Tom Pidcock, Co-Founder of Link My Ride, “Flanders Classics is in a class of its own when it comes to creating some of the best professional cycling races and spectacles in the world. The excitement they create around the races brings people together which aligns perfect with our goals as a company. We’re thrilled to be able to help bring an element of that to cycling communities further afield through the Link My Ride Official Tour of Flanders Ride-Outs. Along with our partnership with some of the best cycling cafes and shops in the world.”

“The reason we all love the Tour of Flanders is because it is a huge cycling party,” says Flanders Classics CEO Tomas Van Den Spiegel. “By partnering with Link My Ride we give fans all over the world a chance to experience that unique atmosphere inherent to the Tour of Flanders’ DNA. This collaboration with Link My Ride also fits our #SetThePace mentality: bringing something new to the table that comes from love for the sport and helps growing the community. It’s great to see that not only we over here in Flanders are excited about the 2nd of April. We are very much looking forward to seeing the Tour of Flanders also being celebrated in the UK, Spain and the USA.”
