Seems that in raiding 21 houses (including a who’s who of Belgian based pro’s), the Police have again proven more effective that Cycling’s governors, dope controllers and TEAM DOCTORS in finding again that the sport is not clean…
Huge shocker.
Medical products were seized (and are being tested) at all houses searched. One would guess that the Vet under arrest (lets call him “Mini-Mabuse”) provided the info on the cyclists. This reminds me of the last Horse Doctor to get the “up against the wall” from the police, only to point quickly at Frank VDB’s house. And of course Frank VDB quickly pointed at his dog… This being the case, I would offer an explanation as to why Belgian Cyclists are so fast!
It’s a given that, if the products seized were from a vet, every one of the guys who got searched (including Museeuw, Peers, Planckaert, De Clercq…) will point at their dogs.
Me being an optimist, I will say it’s all true. You would be fast too, over cobbles, through mud and up Bergs, if you were constantly running into Dogs pumped full of Growth Hormone and EPO…
Lets hope for the best for Johan Museeuw. The guy is a super champion at the end of a storybook career. This is no way for him to go out. But should it be true, lets hope he goes out along with the others in a ball of fire bright enough to burn the others that may choose to follow.
