Caja Rural-Seguros RGA’s Vuelta FUJI SL Bike
Vuelta’17 FUJI Bike: Exotic bikes are all well and good, but when it comes to a professionals bike it has to be reliable, ride well and be light, in the end it is his tool of the trade and his life depends on it. Luke Maguire is working with the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team at the Vuelta a España and took the opportunity to have a good look at Jaime Roson’s FUJI SL race bike.
Jaime Roson is sitting in 20th place overall at the moment, as of stage 11, he is the highest placed Caja Rural-Seguros RGA rider at 8:08 to race leader Chris Froome. His teammate, Sergio Pardilla is one place behind him, just 19 seconds at his heels.
Before the Vuelta started, Jaime made his FUJI SL available for a closer inspection:
The gold chains by KMC really stand out in the peloton
The Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 drive train can’t be faulted. Also very neat cable routing.
The FUJI SL frames are one of the lightest in the business at just 695 grams
The medium profile Oval wheelset is equally at home on the flat or in the mountains
The bike of Roson, the young Caja Rural-Seguros RGA climber will be hoping to take his SL to a stage win during this Vuelta España
Note the pro number holder behind the brake still with the remainder of the last race plate.
The stylish Pioneer power meters let the riders know what kind of wattage they are putting out
Dura-Ace, Pioneer and that gold KMC chain, all solid and reliable kit for the rigors of the pro peloton.
TRP brakes provide a slick, effective carbon braking system
TRP direct mount brakes finished to match the Shimano Dura-Ace components.
Prologo CPC saddle built for speed and comfort
Prologo supply the very important point of contact. When you are sat for maybe six hours a day, the saddle is of top importance.
Xpedo pedals deliver a simple but elegant touch
The team’s pedal of choice comes from Xpedo. Again they are robust and ready to handle the worst conditions
Pioneer deliver a personal touch to each member of the team, as seen on Sergio Pardilla’s bike
Vuelta success on the menu for Jaime Roson and his FUJI SL in the next two weeks.
