What's Cool In Road Cycling

Dave & The Giant Peach: Tour de Georgia, Day 1!

When asked what day would he be looking to make one of his trademark attacks, Jacky Durand said at the team presentation in downtown Macon, “Why not tomorrow?”

After a star studded, Red Carpet affair, one would think this comment would lend itself to the fireworks about to go off in this fine Southern State. From the 5280 TIAA-Cref team, to the Jelly Belly/Aramark squad, to the likes of European stalwarts Saeco, CSC, and US Postal, the 2004 Dodge Tour de Georgia promises to have the best talent on two wheels. One can only hope for fireworks as the creme de la creme hit the streets.

Bobby Julich was happy to be here, and his teammate Jens Voight was seemingly giddy with excitement to be in Georgia. Cipo and the Domina Vacanze team, bringing David Clinger along, look sharp and strong. The fashionably late US Postal team looks relaxed and ready to rock. The American stable of powerhouse talent, riddled with names like Horner, Candelario, Lieswyn, Pate, and more, look fit and ready to rumble. Let’s hope for a great race!

I’ll be on the roadside here in Georgia every day, riding the course and bringing you the insider scoops you only find here at PEZCycling News!
