Cadel Evans to Team Telekom

The young Australian from Mapei, Cadel Evans, has signed a contract for two years in favor of the German formation of Deutsche Telekom. Evans, in the idea of Walter Godefroot, in charge of the team, would be a substitution for Jan Ullrich. The Australian was the suprise of the last Giro d’Italia, wearing the Pink Jersey for several days, in his first appearance in a race of so much importance, after having left the sport of mountain biking.
