Cipollini in Lucca, Antipasto for the Worlds

LUCCA, 19 September – The fourth edition of the Tour of the Lucca Province, organized by RCS Sport and La Gazzetta dello Sport, with the permission of the Provincial Administration of Lucca, will take to the roads Wednesday, October 1st. The four stages, for a total of 714 km, will be a collection of important tests with less than ten days to go before the World Championships in Zolder, Belgium on October 13th. The first stage will begin from Pescia and will arrive in Castelvecchio Pascoli after 165km. The second stage, on the other hand, will take off from Capannori with the finish line placed at Alto Pascio, after nine circuits on the climb of Montecarlo di Lucca. The third stage begins at Stazzema a Forte dei Marmi and after 100km the riders will face the Cipollaio, the most selective climb of the race. The final 30 km, much of which are in descent, propel the riders to the finish on the Lungomare di Forte dei Marmi. Fourth and final stage from Viareggio a Lucca, with three passes over the Monte Pitoro, will finish in Marconi.
