What's Cool In Road Cycling

Jaja Is Go Go

– reported by CSC-Tiscali –
Luckily it was not a depressing deja vue when the undisputed star of CSC Tiscali, Laurent Jalabert, stepped off his bicycle on the Bric Berton climb in the Milan-San Remo. The arguably most popular sports personality in France must have recalled last year, when he faced an enforced absence from a great deal of the spring classic challenges. This year, however, it was only a virus that forced Jalabert to take a break from training. It was not an almost invalidating damage to his back. After the break, last year’s winner of the Tour de France mountain jersey has trained with his usual tenacity and carefulness and is now ready to start on the race schedule, which the CSC Tiscali directeur sportifs have penciled him in for.

With his participation in the German stage race Niedersachen Rundfahrt, Jalabert steps back in line to defend the colours of CSC Tiscali and to hopefully improve the already impressive 9th place in the UCI world rankings. With the results produced by the captain in the Tour du Haut Var and Paris-Nice, there is reason to believe that more good news will be imminent.

The Frenchman’s programme after the German race looks this way for the time being: May 1st: Rund um den Henninger Turm, May 5th: CSC Classic, May 8th – May 12th: 4 jour de Dunkerque, May 22th – May 26th: Midi Libre.

Last year showed that this very programme can help to bring Laurent Jalabert into top shape in time for the start of the Tour de France. We all know the result of this effort last summer and this year, it is more than likely that Laurent Jalabert, by the time the Tour starts in Luxembourg, will have even more impressive performances in the bag. The world of cycling once again has its eyes on the star of CSC Tiscali
