Lampre Tuning Up In Spain

Two important hors category races will be contested in the next few days: Volta Ciclista a Catalunya in Spain and Tour de Suisse. Lampre-Daikin is taking part in both races with two well-matched teams aiming at different goals.

We have talked to general manager Giuseppe Saronni about the Catalan race: “A sixth of the Lampre-Daikin riders for the Tour de France is enrolled in the Spanish race. Raimondas Rumsas, our captain for the Tour de France, will be able to make up for his placing in the Bicicleta Vasca, where he obtained less than he deserved. Rumsas’ presence in Spain is a technical choice,”

Saronni states precisely, “The 30-km team time trial of the first stage is an excellent chance to amalgamate with his teammates with a view of the team time trial in the Tour de France. With Rumsas there will be Pinotti and Quinziato, two excellent time trial specialists.
We expect Ludo Dierckxsens and Marco Serpellini to perform well and Jan Svorada to get a lucky break in a sprint”.
