Lampre’s Rumsas Looks To The Tour

– Reported by Team Lampre-Daikin –

The finale of the Spanish transfer was bittersweet for our riders. Lithuanian champion Raimondas Rumsas got up on the podium just behind Mikel Zarrabeitia: that is an important sign with a view of the next Tour de France.

“The finish in Arrate would have suited a motorcycle race,” Rumsas has said referring to the ambiguous action by the leader.

The Basque rider was in difficulties after the attack by Rumsas and Piepoli but managed to bring down their 27-second gap thanks to too many motorcycles following him.

“However, I’m fine,” Raimondas has added. “I’m going to look for the success in the Volta a Catalunya too. Then, I’ll focus on the Tour de France. I may also not race for the national title even if I’m last year’s winner. To perform well in the Tour de France with the Lampre-Daikin team is paramount for me”.
