Liguria: Palumbo Wins Stage 2

Giuseppe Palumbo of De Nardi-Colpack won Thursday’s the 2nd stage of the Giro della Liguria. Th e 27 year old 5th year pro won the sprint over Sidermec’s Bossoni and Alessio’s Fabio Baldato. The race finishes Satrurday in Savonna. Palumbo said “This is a team victory…”

Oscar Pellicciolli (De Nardi Team Manager): “It has been a great victory and a team’s victory, because the team worked togheter. Gasparre and Zanotti worked for him until the last 450 metres, so Giuseppe could be in a good position for the final sprint” .

Palumbo: “This is a team victory. Zanotti and Gasparre have been cool to work for me, so I could save energies for the final sprint. I’m glad for me and for the team, and we are all happy for it because it means that we are working well” .

Stage 2 results: Pietra Ligure-Andora, 162 km
