Lion King Roars Again in Stage 3

– Reported by Team Acqua & Sapone –

The Lion King won his second stage victory of the 2002 Giro today in the 3rd stage, 213km from Verviers to Esch Sur Alzette, after a great sprint. He clearly beat his challengers, Strazzer 2nd and Danilo Hondo 3rd. This is his 36th victory and the Acqua&Sapone team seems the strongest at the sprint with his great train. “I was looking for the victory after my bad performance of yesterday – says SuperMario – I want to say thank to my team for the work which they did until now. They are professional people and I think that if there was a sprint in place of the prologue, we could win also it. At the Giro my most important objective is to win as much as possible”.
