Millar and Wiggins to lead the British Revolution
Britain’s two reigning World Champions, Bradley Wiggins (Individual Pursuit) and David Millar (Time Trial) will lead out a galaxy of British Stars at the inaugural Revolution meeting in Manchester on 29th November.
The first Revolution event will be an extravaganza of some of the best Britain has to offer taking advantage of the rarity of having Millar and Wiggins, two of the brightest star in British cycling, in the same country at the same time! Wiggins will be coming fresh out of the Gent Six to make his first domestic appearance as World Champion, Millar on the other hand will be coming out of a 3 week taster session on the track and is more than a little concerned!
“Having never ridden the track properly I am a bit worried – I don’t want to kill anyone, or myself for the matter – hopefully by Revolution I will know a bit more about what I am meant to be doing. I’m looking forward to being there though, particularly with Brad and me both being World Champions – its the first time we will have been at an event together so its kind of cool that its in the UK”
Bradley and David are only two of the numerous names confirmed to ride the event, which is the brainchild of the Velodrome Management and the World Class Performance Plan. British fans will also get the chance to see Millar’s team mate Rob Hayles make his last appearance in Cofidis colours and watch the likes of Chris Newton, Bryan Steel and Paul Manning battle it out in a programme of events which guarantees a great evening of competitive and exciting racing.
And what feast of British cycling would be complete without some stars of the past making an appearance, a host of VIP’s from the world of British Track and Road cycling have been invited to the event as guests and some exciting names have already confirmed their attendance.
On top of an incredible line up of riders and a fantastic programme of events Revolution will also feature numerous new initiatives to ensure the audience is entertained, from the usual bars and food to complete accessibility to track centre for all ticket holders, from signing sessions with the stars to event focussed competitions Revolution will provide the most complete cycling experience available for under a tenner!
