What's Cool In Road Cycling

Svorada, First Leader Of La Vuelta A Murcia

The Czech cyclist, Jan Svorada of Lampre, is the first stage winner and leader of this years, the 23rd. La Vuelta a la Comunidad Murciana.

Team Coast were allowed to start as the dead-line for the back pay had been kept.

To-day’s first stage started in the capital city of the region, Murcia, and finished in Ceuti after 162.1 kilometres. There was only the Alto de Pliego, a 3rd cat climb, to cross at 51 kilometres, but not much else to shake them up.

Lance Armstrong started his season to-day, and finished 81st., and our mate, Michael Barry was 98th., both in the same time as Svorada. Last years winner, Victo Hugo Peсa, also of US Postal, finished 44th, he said he would try to win again this year, “it is a similar course as last year, and I have followed much the same preparation as last winter.”
