Navigators’ Action In France

– Reported by Navigators Cycling Team –
The Navigators Cycling Team raced today in the Grand Prix de Denain, a UCI 1.3 event in France. Hoping to equal, or better their results from yesterday’s 1.1 category event, the team had a difficult time of it
today. After missing out on a late, 16-man break, the men in blue went to the front to bring back the escapees. With no help from the other teams, one of the downsides of attaining good results in previous races, the Navigators train brought the gap down to 30-seconds. It was then that the Alexia team took over, but the gap to the leaders started to climb back
up. As the peloton hit the final 15Km circuit, the gap to the leaders was slowly closing for good. Unfortunately, the 16 men in front held their ground and the field finished about 150 meters in arrears. In the end, it
was Alberto Vinale (Alessio) in first, followed by Frederic Finot (Jean Delator) and Damien Nazon (Bonjour). Navigators’ Siro Camponogara finished
back in the main group in 25th. The Navigators squad will continue the 2nd leg of their European tour on Sunday with the Tour de Vendee (France).
