What's Cool In Road Cycling

No Olympics For Armstrong

Lance Armstrong, in the midst of his assault on a 6th straight Tour de France victory, announced Thursday that his Olympic gold bid is no longer on the radar.

“I’ve thought a lot about this and the answer is, I shouldn’t even say ‘probably not,’ I should say ‘no,'” Armstrong said Thursday when asked about his plans when the Tour de France ends on July 25.

His reason for skipping Athens? His kids. Can’t blame a guy, but it leaves one wondering who will fill his shoes? Maybe Chris Horner will get his wish after all. Or perhaps Fred Rodriguez will represent the United States. We’ll know soon, so stay tuned to Pez!
