Pais Vasco – Osa’s 1st Win!

Aitor Osa takes his first major career win while David Etxebarria wins twice for Euskatel in Euskal Herriko txirrindulari itzulia. (Vuelta al Pais Vasco)

Part 1 of to-days stage was won by D.Etxebarria in a sprint from a group of 5 riders. The big loser of the day was Bingen Fernandez (Cofidis), who has disappeared from the leading positions.The race is now totally sown up by Osa as he has 3 minutes over the next rider going into the time trial.

Part 2. Etxebarria made it 2 in a row by winning the afternoon time trial. Aitor Osa had no problem keeping the lead, to make this the first time in 11 years banesto had won this race.

3rd M.Boogerd at 19 seconds
