What's Cool In Road Cycling

Pantani Well-Suited to NBA

Marco Pantani continues his own brand of “trash-talkin” as he gets ready for the northern Classics, proving he may well be suited to a second career in the NBA. Pantani was recently reported to say about three-time Tour winner Lance Armstrong… “I don’t want to get into an argument, but for me Armstrong is nothing special.
He’s a great rider, but he’s not a great champion. He’s clever. I can’t wait to ride against him on the Tour again.”

“Next week I’m going to do the Criterium International in France. I will do also Liege and Fleche Vallone, and Giro Trentino… so, the normal way to prepare for the Giro d’Italia. Now I’m 32 years old, I need to see any result. And I think I will see these results. Nobody can continue to work if he doesn’t see results. And if they won’t come, it’s ok.
Everything has an end, and so it will be normal also if Pantani has finished his cycling. But I don’t think it will happen soon.”
