What's Cool In Road Cycling

Paolini Pips Piemonte

After Milano-Torino, today’s Giro del Piemonte also finished in the sprint. This time the winner was Luca Paolini (Mapei) over Matthias Kessler (Team Telekom) and Gianluca Bortolami (Tacconi Sport). It has been an hard race, with many attacks, and a strong wind in the face of the riders for the whole second half of the race.

Many riders try to go away, but the group brought everyone back. And so Paolini won at the sprint. This year he has had several top placings, but this is his first victory of the season.

Paolini: “All this year I’ve been many times near victory. It repays my sacrifices, and it makes me confident about my chances of victory for the next season. Now I
will run also Giro di Lombardia, and wish to help Bettini for the final victory in the World Cup Ranking”.
