Pellizotti Pleased In Friuli
Team Alessio scored it’s second big win this week as Franco Pellizotti beat Gilberto Simoni and David Rebellin in a 3-up sprint in Saturday’s 199km Giro del Friuli. We have the comments from the top three…
Pellizotti: “I’m glad for this victory in so hard a race. In the final I caught the right wheel: Simoni sprinted at 300 metres, Rebellin at 200metres but I went out at 150m and I hung on until the finish. Cycling is giving me so much and I want to give so much to cycling too. But I need experience and for the moment I just want to enjoy this”.
Simoni: “I thought I’d be faster in the sprint, but Pellizzotti has been faster than me. Now I’m prepraring for Vuelta, and it will start with a team time trial. I will do a very hard week and I need to lose some kgs and then I’ll be ready”.
Rebellin: “It has been a very hard race. I tried my chance but I didn’t get lucky. I need more racing to find my best condition and my best sprint. Now I’ll do all the final of the season and I hope to win a race”.
