What's Cool In Road Cycling

Quaranta Quaiboshed!

Ivan Quaranta must leave the North before the start of fighting: the 27 year old rider from Alexia-Alumniniofell Monday afternoon when he was returning from the last training before La Panne, and he broke his right hand. It’s happened near Waregem, and was apparently caused by a dog. The moral is really low, and this is normal, because the 3 days of de Panne should be a test for the next Giro d’Italia.
He went at the hospital in Courtrai, and this afternoon he will return to Italy, for a visit to a specialist. This year isn’t really lucky for the strong sprinter. After his victory at one stage at the Tour of Qatar, Quaranta encountered many problems. He wished to restart from here, where he won in ’99 a stage in Coxyde. Now more problems for him in this 2002, and he’s waiting to know the exact prognosis.
