Romandie: Second Stage to Krivtsov

– Reported by Datasport.it –

The Ukranian Yuriy Krivtsov has won the second stage of the Tour of Romandie, which took the riders from Couvet to Lucens, for a total of 178 kilometers. The rider from Jean Delatour beat out the Swizz Martin Elmiger (phonak) after a break of around 150 kilometers. The field sprint for third was taken by Angelo Furlan (Alessio). The leader of the classification is still Simone Bertoletti of Lampre after the time gains made during his solo victory in yesterday’s stage 1.

American Tyler Hamilton still sits in 7th position, 1’06” behind the Italian Bertoletti. Hamilton has said that the Tour of Romandie was one of his goals for the spring, the other being Liege-Bastogne-Liege. The CSC rider is looking to capitalize on the fine form that he’s shown by taking a historic win in “La Doyenne”, the first Liege win by an American. The mountains start tommorow.
