Rumsas Awarded Athlete of the Year

The 30 year old cyclist Raimondas Rumsas is the athlete of the year 2002 in Lithuania. The Lampre Daikin team leader, notwithstanding his recent ill fortune, along with his wife in a doping case, has been awarded by his Lithuanian compatriots. Second place went to the pentathlete Andrejus Zadneprovskis and the third to canoeist Alvydas Duonela. Rumsas was awarded a new Land Rover SUV by the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee.
