– Reported by Saeco-Longoni –

Taking the hilly 3rd stage of the Tour of Austria

Gerrit Glomser has won the third stage of the Tour of Austria from Schwaz-Innervillgraten over 296 km. The Saeco -Longoni Sport rider finally used his great form to win after scoring several good placings in the last few days (he was 3rd on Saturday in the last stage of the Tour of Germanyand in the first two stages in Austria).

The stage was decided on the final climb to the finish. Young Saeco-Longoni Sport talent Damiano Cunego attacked first and then Igor Pugaci and Marius Sabaliauskas took over setting a high speed ready for designated team leader Glomser to attack.
At 3 km from the finish Peter Luttenberger went clear with Obwaller and Glomser joined them with Dane Petersen.
These four contested the finish with Gerrit Glomser winning on the steep finish, beating Luttenberger, Obwaller and Petersen.
Glomser’s second career win -his first was a stage at the Tour of Austria last year, unfortunately did not give him the race lead but he is now just three seconds behind Cancellara.
