The Belgian Steve Vermaut (Lotto) has had to retire because of a heart problem. The ex US Postal rider has been told to rest to get the rhythms of his heart back to normal.

Giro = 1 Spanish Team
Kelme will be the only Spanish team to ride in the Giro de Italia this year, ibanesto.com and ONCE have decided not to ride because it will not be shown on the main Spanish TV channel TVE.

Eki Goes Postal – Again

His main aim is the world time trial champs in Zolder.

Tchmil To Ride Amstel
Andrei Tchmil has confirmed he will start in the Amstel Gold Race on 28th of April. His manager Jos Braekvelt announced that Tchmil will possibly ride the world road race champs at the end of the year.

VDB To Appeal Ban
And finally Frank Vandenbrouke has decided to appeal against his 6 month ban to the TAS (sports arbiter) in Lausanne in Switzerland.
