Subida al Naranco

The Spanish rider Gonzalo Bayarri (Jazztel) won The Subida al Naranco, ”Cima Josй Manuel Fuente” on Tuesday, over a hilly course in the north of Spain near the start of Wednesdays Vuelta a Asturias.

A small group enlivened the early part of the race with Fuentes (Saeco), Gonzбlez (Aqua & Sapone), Zarrabeitia (ONCE) and Rafa Casero (Jazztel), managing a gap of 1 minute before being closed down by ibanesto.com & Kelme. More attacks by Zarrabeitia soon split things up, with Bayarri joining Osa, Savilla & Mercado to form the winning break.

At the finish Bayarri was too good for the sprinter Osa (ibanesto.com), as he said ” it was a very special win for me, beating Osa, and I dedicate this win to my Father & my principal fans.”
