Tafi Talks About CSC

Tafi and his new team
Andrea Tafi, 37 years old, will run next year in the CSC team of Bjarne Riis and “It will be the first foreign team of my life. Riis trusts in me, and he showed it by the
facts, I will have a white paper for the classics. I’m going to an ambitious team, and with the arrival of Ullrich shall be more ambitious. Of course I’m not able to replace a rider like Jalabert, but I can give very much: I recovered well from the crash on 24th November at Prato, and in a week I’ll be able to pedal again. In
January I should be at Tour Down Under.

A condition that must arrive early, to be ready for the Classics in spring. “I’m proud of my 5 victories in the World Cup (Lombardia ’96, Rochester International
Classic ’97, Roubaix ’99, Paris-Tours 2000, Flanders 2002), just one less than Bartoli, which however has more years than me on racing. The Classicissima‚ (Milan-Sanremo) is the one that I miss, also if Flanders and Roubaix are great races and win it again it will be great. Anyway, I’m an unpredictable rider: I don’t win really much but when I’ve the condition I can do it everywhere. And I don’t think to have limits talking about
myself: until I have this body and this determination, I’ll continue cycling. It could be for 1 or 2 years, but for sure you won’t see me arrive at the finish “finished”. I will
leave cycling which gave me a lot and to which I gave something also, but I will do it as a winner”.
