Tchmil Tchmucked!

Reported by Robert van Willigenburg

This is the latest on Tchmil, according to Belgian TV:
Andre Tchmil’s final season took a bad turn today during Stage 2 of Driedaagse van De Panne in a big crash that also involved Dario Pieri (ITA) and Chris Peers (BEL)
There was a serious fall in a group, on the rocky descent of the Kemmelberg (22%!). Tchmil and Chris Peers were in the group, among others
like Paolo Bossoni, Pieri, Bennati and Kristof Trouve. The cause of the
fall seems to have been a dropped waterbottle.

Most of these riders were hospitalized, and for a couple of hours it was
thought that both Tchmil (leg) and Peers (hips) had broken bones.
The official statements now are that Tchmil has broken two fingers, and
that he has torn muscles in both of his leg, toward the buttocks. It is
expected he could rejoin in the Amstel Gold Race (april 28).

Chris Peers, who had been doing so great again in the last couple of
weeks, has not broken any bones, but has a couple of serious injuries
from the fall so he will be out for a while.

Trouve has broken his nose.
