The Dope: No Dope

No one was found guilty at the inquisition of the Italian anti doping section. All the 13 riders were absolved with the only exception of Di Grande (Index-Alexia), who was convicted to 6 months which he served in 2001. 5 riders, Andriotto, Nocentini, Piccoli, Romano and Varriale were absolved for using caffeine. For Brignoli, De Paoli, Elli, Figueras, Leoni, Mondini and Siboni the inquisition requested more documents and depositions.
Also absolved were the 2 teams, Mapei Quick Step and Tacconi Sport.
