Tour of Aragon Starts Tomorrow

Vuelta Cyclista Aragon.

On Wednesday 17th April the 39th tour of Aragon starts in Huesca. The race consists of 5 stages, being contested by 16 of the top teams, all the Spanish teams plus AG2R & Cofidis (FRA), Coast & Telecom (GER), Acqua, Alessio & Mapie (ITA), Phonak (SUI), US Postal (USA) & LA Pecol (POR).

The first stage of 152km runs to Cerler, with a small hill at about half way of 670 metres in height, the stage then makes one big climb to the finish at 1,520 metres.

Last years event of 795.7 kilometres, was won by Juan Carlos Dominguez then riding for ibanesto.com by 6 seconds from Roberto Heras (US Postal). Lance Armstrong was 12th at 1 minute 21 seconds. This year Dominguez is riding for Phonak, he also won the race in 1999.
