Vuelta Stage 4: Two In A Row For Cipo

Same plan as yesterday, lone break away from a small team, gets caught, then its eyes down for the sprint.

To-days early break away went at 3 kilometres, Jazztel’s Dario Gadeo stretched his lead to 11 minutes 25 seconds by 52 kilometres. Dario is a local rider from El Campello, just up the coast from yesterdays start. He managed to keep the chasers at bay until the streets of Aguadulce, a matter of 12 kilometres from the finish in Roquetas De Mar.

The chase had been headed by (no surprise) Telecom, Mapei and Aqua & Sapone, the finish was very dangerous, which caused many crashes and upsets, Eric Zabel could only manage fourth and Oscar Freire was eigth. Petacchi was again second, his day will come.

Mario Cipollini had never won a stage of the Vuelta Espaсa before, now its two in a row, tomorrow I think he will have booked his flight home, the climb to the top of the Sierra Nevada at 2,510 metres will not suit him.

Yesterday the famous Spanish card game of MUS started it’s Vuelta Championships in Murcia. 48 couples took part, the next game is in Mаlaga followed by Leтn and Santander, the final is in Salamanca. First prize: 600 euros & a holiday.

Tomorrow around 11 o’clock there will be a minutes silence in memory of the victims of the 11th. of September last year. The flags of Spain, USA and europe will fly at half mast.
