What's Cool In Road Cycling

Zulle Wins At Romandie

The bad weather continued again today in Switzerland as riders battled more rain and even snow in today’s 143km stage, won by Team Coast’s Alex Zulle. The homegrown hero beat David Moncoutiй (Fra-Cof) and
Santiago Perez Fernandez (Spa-Kel) after an epic ride through the worst conditions – we’re talking full-on snow storm – and after coming from behind on the final 13km climb to snatch victory from Perez.

Also of note is ex-mtb champ Cadel Evans’ super ride – he finished 6th today and is lying 4th overall – we have not seen the best from Cadel yet!

Dario Frigo continues to lead the overall, which finishes tomorrow with a 21km TTin Lausanne.

Results – GC
1. Dario Frigo (Tacconi)
2. Santiago Perez Fernandez (Kelme),
3. Andrea Noe (Mapei),
4. Cadel Evans (Mapei),
5. Carlos Sastre Candil (Tiscali).
