5th stage, Richeze once again in the top 5

Maximiliano Richeze once again in the top part of a stage standing in Tour of Qinghai Lake.

The Argentinian sprinter was 4th in the 5th stage of the Chinese race (Tianjun-Xihaizhen , 203 km).
Two attackers, former members of a 16 cyclists breakaway, battle for the victory, that was obtained by Polivoda on Goesinnen, while in the chasing bunch the sprinters battled for the 3rd place, obtained by Modolo on Richeze.

Team LAMPRE-MERIDA tried to select the Group by the means on an echelon, as sport director Matxin explained: “We raced again Always above the 3200 mt above the sea level, that means that the stage was quite demanding despite today there was only one climb. We decided to exploit the strong wind, that’s why we created an echelon that gave the head of a race to a 18 riders group: all of our 6 cyclists were members of this group.
Unluckily, the wind lost his power and so the action was neutralized”.

No changes in the overall classification (Graziato 4th).
