Adrien Costa Teams Up With CORSO Sports Marketing

CORSO Sports Marketing is proud to announce the addition of Adrien Costa to the agency. Having recently won the silver medal at the UCI World Time Trial Championships in Ponferrada, Spain, the 17 year old is seen as one of cycling’s future stars. He is also the current US National Junior individual Time Trial champion.

“The next few years are definitely very important for me, as first I focus on my upcoming final season as a junior with the big Nations Cup races and World Championships being held on US soil as the biggest goals,” Costa said upon announcing the news. “A little more long term, I want to focus on my future in the sport through finding the right teams, getting lots of racing experience in Europe and in general, developing, learning, and continuing to improve as much as possible to one day be competitive in dream races like the Tour de France. Having spent some time with the agency, I feel like João [Correia] and Ken [Sommer] are the guys to look after me in the sport in this regard.”

CORSO Sports’, João Correia, welcomed the news. “I spent some time with Adrien on the bike and was delighted to find a focused and talented young man. We believe he’s got a lot to offer the sport and we’re looking forward to working on his development in the coming years.”

The 2014 season has been an impressive one for the American who won the overall in Tour du Pays de Vaud. He says he sees himself as a climber, but recently has been working on improving in the time trial which shows after he won the race against the clock in the aforementioned Swiss race, the national championships and in Nations Cup event Tour de l’Abitibi Desjardins.

When asked what first attracted him to cycling, Costa said,” I was exposed to cycling as a sport at a very young age while watching the Tour de France on TV. I was lucky enough to have family in France and was able to go over every summer, watch every stage live, or some even in person, and then relive the excitement of the races on my bike. I absolutely loved the speed, freedom, and exertion from the very beginning.”
