Area Zero D’Amico Reboots in Bormia

Training camp in Valtellina from July 13th to the 18th

Area Zero D’Amico is back to pedalling on great climbs. The Italian continental formation managed by Ivan De Paolis and Andrea Tonti will be hard at work from July 13th to the 18th in Bormio (Sondrio). For Area Zero this is their second training camp in Bormio, following the one they had in the month of June. They will be enjoying a stay at the facilities of QC Terme Bagni di Bormio.

“After the Italian Championships, where, by the way we made a good impression and confirmed ourselves as one of the best formations on the national scene, the riders took a major break and completely detached from their bikes for a week. Starting with Bormio we’re going to be getting back to some serious business,” explains Paolo Santello, athletic coach for Area Zero D’Amico. “All the riders will be there, including Giovanni Carboni who’s getting back into the ranks after the sprint he took on his books to prepare for the exams for his high school diploma, which he passed with flying colours. The guys will be working at 360°, closely followed by me and by Sports Directors Andrea Tonti and Massimo Codol. The major climbs you can take when starting off from Bormio will be the perfect terrain to work on distance and significant gradient training but there will also be room to do specific workouts on speed and power. After the camp we will get back to the races with the GP Larciano in Tuscany, on Saturday, July 26th, before setting off for our South American transfer for the Vuelta a Colombia scheduled from August 13th to the 24th.”

The entire team will be taking part in the retreat in Bormio, with: Giovanni Carboni, Fabio Chinello, Paolo Ciavatta, Silvio Giorni, Gianluca Leonardi, Gianluca Mengardo, Andrea Pasqualon, Charly Petelin, Simone Petilli, Marco Tecchio and Stefano Tonin.

“It will be an important time for the team to work together and build cohesion as we look forward to planning the second part of the season,” explains team manager Ivan De Paolis. “Thanks to our partnership with QC Terme we get the chance to train in a perfect place under any perspective, as guests in accommodations that offer high quality standards like QC Terme Bagni di Bormio. For us this place has become the ideal destination for training, but it is also a great place for anyone who wants a relaxing vacation pursuing a passion for bicycles.”

With special deals called “Pro Cycling Experience” offered by Bike Division, in association with QC Terme and Area Zero D’Amico, pedalling in Bormio together with the team can become a reality…for more information:
