Area Zero Pro Team Pedals with Northwave
Northwave will be pedalling with Area Zero Pro Team in the 2014 season, which is heading towards the starting gate. The new, all-Italian, continental formation directed by team managers Andrea Tonti and Ivan De Paolis reached a deal with the Venetian company from Onigo (Treviso) that has always been one of the brands of reference in the international cycling scene sector. The riders from Area Zero Pro Team will be using Extreme Tech Plus shoes, which are the top of the line models from the Northwave brand’s 2014 road collection.
On Wednesday, January 8th, the entire team paid a visit to Northwave headquarters in Onigo, to get familiar with their new shoes and to work out all the technical details. It was also an important occasion to meet the company staff that will closely follow the riders in the upcoming competitive season.
“We are proud that Northwave has decided to support our project,” says Team Manager Andrea Tonti. “Area Zero is a young team, we are just starting out and to do so we decided to invest in some very green riders, because young people are the future of cycling. It’s an ambitious challenge, but we believe in it and we are very pleased that a company as important as Northwave has decided to lend us its support and accompany us on this adventure, supplying us with the finest shoes from their collection. The history of Northwave is punctuated by the names of champions and by awesome victories. It won’t be easy, but we hope that in time our team can also contribute to enhancing this prestigious portfolio.”
“Northwave has always believed in young talent, particularly in their passion, their desire to grow and to break through,” says Gianni Piva, founder of Northwave. “To us, what Area Zero represents seemed like a serious, important project from the start. The riders are all very young, but they have a fantastically professional and experienced staff backing them up; this is why we decided that we should support this squad in their new adventure. For us and for the team, we hope that this collaboration can further expand and develop to bring tremendous satisfaction to both parties.”
