Arts and sport meet in Gimondi’s name Painter Zaccaria Cremaschi is 2014 choice

Gran Fondo Gimondi – Bianchi and Bergamo’s artists twinning goes on at the event’s 18th edition to take place on Sunday May 4th. Zaccaria Cremaschi is the painter selected by the organizers this year.

Born in 1949, Cremaschi managed his education between Bergamo and Salzburg, at Carrara and Austrian Academy, under the guidance of big names like Longaretti and De Luigi. Since early age he distinguished himself staging numerous exhibits in Italy (Chiavenna, Bergamo, Venice, Milan) and later abroad: Monaco (2002), Solothurn (Switzerland, 2007) and Pirmasens (Germany, 2008).

“We aim going beyond sport to emphasize other social and cultural features of our province we’re very close to – OC manager Beppe Manenti argued. – Arts and sports are different but complementary aspects of our history and life”.

On the occasion of 2014 event, Gran Fondo Gimondi – Bianchi started up a new cooperation with Fondazione Creberg, focused on exhibits and cultural activities’ promotion, under the coordination of Angelo Piazzoli, Credito Bergamasco’s Secretary and Fondazione Credito Bergamasco’s President.

In the meantime, registrations for the 18th Gran Fondo Felice Gimondi – Bianchi are still running and can be filled through the online application by credit card on official website www.felicegimondi.it, otherwise by bank transfer, postal bulletin or directly to the organization headquarter in Bergamo (Via G. Da Campione, 24/c).
