Barguil and Van Vleuten upload Tour and La Course stage wins to Strava
Warren Barguil took a momentous victory today, winning stage 18 on the final mountain of the 2017 Tour de France. Tightening his grip on the King of the Mountains competition, Barguil clocked an average speed of 37.5km/h over the steep 179.5km course. With over 3,600m of climbing he managed to take no less than 12 Strava KOMs, 11 of which were on the Col d’Izoard.
Annemiek van Vleuten put herself into the ‘hurtbox’ when riding to victory in stage one of the two-day 2017 La Course. Building on an impressive start to the season Van Vleuten proved the strongest rider on the day, completing the 67.5km course with an average speed of 31.6km/h. Van Vleuten picked up an impressive 14 QOMs throughout the day, 12 of which were on the Col d’Izoard where she put in an attack with 4.5km to go.
