Belkin: Five challenging days in Wallonia
Despite racing in the Tour de France, the Belkin Pro Cycling Team will also be active in another event. While the riders in black, white and green finish the French Grand Tour another Belkin squad rides its bikes in southern Belgium in the Tour de Wallonia, July 20 to 24.
Sports Director Michael Elijzen leads the team with an eager roster. He said: “Most of the guys haven’t raced for a while. They have been at a training camp in Germany’s Black Forest. They’ve trained well from what I’ve heard.”
Elijzen expects five tough days in Wallonia and sees plenty of opportunities. “All of the five stages are difficult. The opening stage is the hardest, which should sort the general classification right away. With Tom-Jelte Slagter and Paul Martens, we should be able to come away with some great results.”
The Tour the Wallonia starts the 20th of July until 24th of July.
Team line-up: Jack Bobridge, Jetse Bol, Juanma Gárate, Marc Goos, Paul Martens, Tom-Jelte Slagter and Dennis van Winden. Sports Director: Michiel Elijzen.
