Belkin’s ‘powerful men’ in GP Plouay

The Belkin Pro Cycling Team will start Sunday’s Grand Prix Ouest France Plouay with a strong team of specialists. Team manager Nico Verhoeven sees opportunities for all six of his riders.

“Although the final is quite selective, usually a pretty large group sprints for the win,” said Verhoeven. “The finish is slightly uphill, and that is perfect for guys with powerful legs. We will not focus on just one of our riders because we have several riders available.”

Lars Boom
One of the men is Lars Boom. In the Eneco Tour, the Dutchman showed that he is in good shape. “I feel fine. I think Plouay is a beautiful race, and I’m really looking forward to Sunday,” Boom explained. “It is a long and selective race that usually ends in a sprint, I like that. In the Eneco Tour, I showed my legs are turning fast enough for the sprints.”

Team line-up:
Lars Boom, Wilco Kelderman, Tom Leezer, Paul Martens, Lars Petter Nordhaug and Sep Vanmarcke.

Sports Director:
Nico Verhoeven.
