BMC Racing Team Ready For Binche-Chimay-Binche

The BMC Racing Team heads into Binche-Chimay-Binche (Mémorial Frank Vandenbroucke) on Tuesday looking for more than just a tune-up before its final one-day race of the 2013 season.

Strong Six-Man Lineup
Greg Van Avermaet headlines a squad that includes Tour of Alberta stage winner Silvan Dillier and Swiss national road champion Michael Schär. Van Avermaet said his late-season form is good as he looks ahead to Paris-Tours on Sunday, a race he won in 2011. “I will use Binche as a good training race for my last goal to the season,” Van Avermaet said. “We will see how recovered I am from Il Lombardia, because it was pretty hard. But I think I will be fine and ready.” Van Avermaet said a course change from last year should not affect his chances of adding to his list of victories that includes two stages and the overall at the Tour de Wallonie and a stage of the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. “The final laps are the same, so it is still a hard uphill sprint,” he said. Assistant Director Yvon Ledanois said the rest of the BMC Racing Team’s six-rider line-up for the 187.6-kilometer race performed consistently at the four-day Tour de l’Eurométropole, which concluded Sunday. “I hope to have a team with great motivation for this Belgian semi-classic,” he said. “It is also a perfect tune-up before Paris-Tours.”
