Book de Tour: a unique visual record of the 2014 Tour de France to treasure forever
The Tour de France has started and so has “Book de Tour”. Official 2015 Richmond World Championship artist in residence, Greig Leach is recording this year’s Tour de France as the action unfolds each day. You can watch the project take shape on www.theartofcycling.blogspot.com.
This year his beautiful, eye-catching, post-card sized, watercolor and ink annotated drawings will be bound into a tome, worthy of gracing any coffee table, including yours, by Richmond specialist art printer Dementi Publishing.
Greig is looking for funding on Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1335072134/book-de-tour?ref=nav_search) with an array of tempting rewards for supporters, including his original artworks and an artist-signed copy of the book. You can subscribe and join in the fun for as little as US$5!
“This book unites my twin passions of cycling and painting. But I can’t take any credit. It stems from an idea of my wife back in 2012 to capture that year’s Tour de France in an affordable way and offer, lasting original mementos to cycling’s growing fan base. Several years, several Grand Tours and key WorldTour races later, the time is now right for me to produce a book based on my paintings of this year’s Tour de France”, declared Greig.
If you’d like a lasting memory of this year’s Tour at a preferential price, please subscribe on Kickstarter to take part in this exciting fund raising experience.
