Boom and Bos motivated and ambitious for the Ster ZLM Toer

Erik Dekker is looking for two things in the Ster ZLM Toer. Not only is the Directeur Sportif looking for a top classification for the number two from last year, Lars Boom, but also success for Theo Bos in the sprint stages.

“Last year, Lars finished in second and won the Queen Stage. The motivation and ambition to perform again this year is once again very present. Lars’ form continues to grow – he is building to the Dutch Championship and The Tour and therefore should be capable of a podium place in the Ster ZLM Toer.”

Lars Boom
Boom echoes the sentiments of his Sports Director. “I want to book a good result once again this year as well as ride a good Queen Stage. It would certainly be nice to finish higher in the classification than last year. I have not really looked at the competition – that’s not so interesting, I just need to ensure that I am in good shape. I’ve been training very hard the past weeks and I am on my way to my best form.

Theo Bos
Regarding the sprint ambitions for Bos, Dekker stated, “Theo will get loads of support from the team. The three best sprinters in the world will be present in Cavendish, Greipel and Kittel so we’re looking at a fantastic challenge. On the second and last days, it will certainly end up in a sprint. We’re hoping for a Theo-Day.”

Bos is looking forward to the clash. “I am ready for it. The form was already pretty good and in the last couple of weeks I’ve dotted the i’s. I have the support of a good team, I think that together we can make it difficult for the big guns. This is a great opportunity to take stock and I am looking forward to it!
