What's Cool In Road Cycling

Duque and Avila go for strong display in Fourmies

Team Colombia is about to take its final race in France in the 2013 season: on Sunday, September 8th, Claudio Corti’s riders will line-up for GP Fourmies, a historical semiclassic taking place in Nord Pas de Calais region.

On a route that can suit either sprinters or punchy riders, Team Colombia will count on two leaders, experienced Leonardo Duque and youngster Edwin Avila: both fast-finishers who are not afraid of lumpy roads. Guided by Sports Director Valerio Tebaldi, they will be sided by Wilson Marentes, Dalivier Ospina, Carlos Julian Quintero, Duber Quintero, Juan Pablo Suarez and Juan Pablo Valencia.

Darwin Atapuma will not be part of the line-up, as he is still recovering from the knee injury suffered at the Tour de l’Ain: “The MRI revealed that his knee is still inflamed, but we hope the issue will be resolved quickly, thanks to the focused therapy he is already undergoing,” General Manager Claudio Corti explained.

GP Fourmies (September 8th):

Line-up: Edwin Avila, Leonardo Duque, Wilson Marentes, Dalivier Ospina, Carlos Julian Quintero, Duber Quintero, Juan Pablo Suarez, Juan Pablo Valencia
