Dylan Page Makes Podium on the Final Day

This Sunday, Caja Rural – Seguros RGA finished off Volta ao Alentejo on a very good note with Dylan Page sprinting to third place in the final stage of the race.

The team also had a strong start to the Portuguese stage race with Eduard Prades taking second place in the opening stage. Unfortunately, Prades later crashed and had to withdrew, while also Page suffered a crash in one of the bunch sprints. However, the Swiss sprinter bounced back with an impressive performance in the uphill sprint in Évora today. Juan Sebastian Molano (Manzana Postobon) took the win, while Carlos Barbero (Movistar) won the race overall. Caja Rural – Seguros RGA finished sixth in the team classification.

Dylan Page: “My legs were good and I really wanted to go all in today. With 25 km to go, there was an intermediate sprint on a small hill. Two teams pushed hard at the front and that caught us by surprised at the back of the peloton. However, the team stayed calm and slowly, we moved back to the front. The last few kilometers were a bit tricky on cobblestones. I knew I had to stay within the first 10 riders on the final three kilometers and my teammates put me in a great position. In the uphill sprint, I passed the last corner, with 400 meters to go, in fourth position. I wanted to move up on the last 200 meters but I got blocked a little and had to settle for third place. Still, I’m very satisfied with the way we finished this race”.

In France, the Caja Rural – Seguros RGA riders put up a great fight in Royal Bernard Drome Classic. Both Alex Aranburu (14) and Jaime Rosón (19) made Top20 as Sebastien Delfosse (WB Veranclassic Aqua Protect) took the win.
