Eight stage, Richeze is second again just behind Modolo

Modolo again, and LAMPRE-MERIDA has to postpone the appointment with the victory in Tour of Qinghai Lake.

As happened on Wednesday, Italian sprinter preceded Richeze, this time on the arrival of the 8th stage of the Chinese race (Qilian-Zhangye, 201 km): in the long final sprint, Argentinian rider could reach the arrival before Rogers, Keough and Benfatto, but he could not overtake Modolo, so he obtained the 2nd place.

“Today course was easier than the past ones, since there was a hors categorie Gpm that was placed at more than 140 km to go – Richeze (in photo, on the podium) explained – So, there was plenty of time to recover the head of the race to prepare the sprint. I thank my team mates that helped me a lot in the approach of the sprint. I think I performed a very good sprint, but it was not enough to defeat Modolo, who was too strong”.

In the overall classification, Graziato climbs up a position: he’s 12th at 2’47” to Poor Seiedi.
