What's Cool In Road Cycling

Fourth Annual NYC Bike Expo Announces New Expo Location in Midtown Manhattan

Among the world’s largest road cycling consumer expos, NYC Bike Expo announces its May 16-17, 2014 expo will be held at a new location, the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue at 26th Street.

The two-day New York City Bike Expo draws 15,000 cycling enthusiasts on the occasion of Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York, the 100-mile amateur bike race held on May 18, 2014. Among the visitors are members of hundreds of cycling teams and clubs. 75% of the expo’s visitors are from the US and 25% are from abroad, including countries like Italy, Sweden, Brazil, UK, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Japan and more.

The cyclists in attendance are dedicated athletes who ride their bike year-round covering thousands of miles annually. They are mostly men in their 30s and 40s, highly educated and 90% earn over $75,000/year. NYC Bike Expo allows direct interaction with this appealing demographic.

Joshua Riddle, Campagnolo’s Press Manager, says “The eyes of the world are on New York and from both a visibility and prestige point of view it makes sense to take advantage of such a location. With such a prominent event drawing so many cyclists from around the world, it was only fitting for Campagnolo to launch a new product at the 2013 NYC Bike Expo: the Bora Ultra 35 wheels. You only get one chance at making a big impression when you unveil new products and the Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York is a great place to make a big impact.”

NYC Bike Expo’s new home, the 69th Regiment Armory, is an iconic event space. Besides its use as an active military armory, it hosts the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, along with dozens of other consumer expos and private parties. The Armory was once home to the New York Knicks before they moved to their current home at Madison Square Garden. The Armory’s Drill Hall offers a high ceiling space with no columns. Cars can be easily accommodated on the Drill Hall floor. Sales and sampling are permitted.

Campagnolo, Elite, PowerBar, Limar, Paragon Sports, T Edward Wines, CompuTrainer and Biemme are among the companies that exhibited at New York City Bike Expo in 2013 and are coming back in 2014. New companies exhibiting at the expo are Stephen Roche Camps, Never Stop Riding, Haute Route and Cipollini Bicycles.

Vendor booths and table-only spaces are available for rent. Special discounted pricing is currently offered for vendors who reserve early. For exhibitor information for the May16-17, 2014 NYC Bike Expo, please contact Lidia Fluhme at [email protected].
